Existential Threat or Algorithmic Hype?
The "Threat" narrative isn't just about killer robots or Terminator scenarios. It is more subtle and perhaps more terrifying. It is the fear of displacement. When an algorithm can write better code, diagnose diseases more accurately, and create more compelling art than a human, where does that leave the biological creator?
In The Prodigy, we see this transition play out through the character of Prometheus. It doesn't start with a war; it starts with a boy trying to help his creation understand the world.
